Sindy Zemura
Dr. Sindy Zemura Bernard is a multiple award-winning humanitarian, social entrepreneur, and global advocate dedicated to advancing gender equality, youth empowerment, and poverty alleviation. With over two decades of experience across Africa, Europe, the U.S., and Canada, she has led transformative initiatives in international development and finance.
As the Founding CEO of the Southern Africa Embrace Foundation (SAE Fdn) — a UN ECOSOC-accredited organization — she supports more than 25,000 vulnerable women, children, and youth across seven African countries. In 2022, she launched the Women Lead Forum (WLF), a continental movement fostering intergenerational mentorship and leadership, backed by a $20 million fund vision to empower women and youth in innovation, trade, and climate action.
Dr. Sindy previously served as Special Advisor and Team Lead for Intergenerational Dialogues at the African Union Office of the Youth Envoy, mobilizing 80 million African youth and 37 Heads of State. A recognized thought leader and speaker, she has engaged in over 80 global forums and contributes regularly to platforms such as WIIS Canada and NATO Canada on gender, peace, and education.
